Fund Purpose Provides support to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program in Harrison County.
Fund Story The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) began working with The Dollywood Foundation and many local agencies in fall 2007 to bring Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) to local preschool children. Every child who is registered in the program receives one free, age appropriate book per month from the time they are born until age 5. Harrison County children began receiving books in the mail in January 2008.
“Since bringing this wonderful program to Harrison County 3,177 of our Harrison County children have received 98,274 books! (dated January 8, 2013),” said Julie Timberlake, HCCF Director of Programs. “The feedback we receive from parents about how much their children enjoy receiving these books every month is heartwarming.”
