Fund Purpose Provides educational scholarships for graduating seniors of North Harrison High School who are accepted into and attending an accredited vocational training program or a two- or four-year public or private institution of higher learning.
Fund Story After discussing it for years, the North Central High School Class of 1961 decided at their 50th class reunion in 2011 to establish an endowed scholarship fund. Classmates wanted to leave something for their home community that they loved. A one-time scholarship will be awarded each year to a graduating North Harrison High School senior who is accepted into and will attend a certified vocational training program or an accredited two or four year institution of higher learning.
Just as North Central Community Schools were created from the consolidation of several smaller high schools, North Central later merged with Morgan Township Schools to become North Harrison Community Schools. Although some classmates moved away, most stayed in the community where they were raised. Many stayed active with the school while their children and grandchildren attended.
