Fund Purpose Provides scholarships for graduating seniors of North Harrison High School who were members of the girls varsity basketball team (players or managers).
Fund Story The North Harrison Lady Cats Booster Club established a scholarship fund at the Harrison County Community Foundation during the 2008-2009 school year. The North Harrison Girls Basketball Scholarship Fund provides two scholarships each year for graduating seniors of North Harrison High School who were team members of the Girls Varsity Basketball Team during their senior year. Recipients may include players or managers.
"The recipients of these scholarship funds shall be true student athletes," said Hal Pearson, Varsity Girls Coach. "They will embody the characteristics of solid academic performance in the classroom, dedication to Lady Cat basketball on the floor, and also be a solid standing member of the Harrison County community," added Pearson.
This scholarship fund was established with donations from the booster club, basketball fund, and some other outside donations. "These donations are greatly appreciated", said Pearson. "This is a great way to give back to students in the girls' basketball program that have so freely given of their own time and energy to the Lady Cat Program."
"I think people sometimes forget that student comes first in "student athlete". This scholarship wilt only help booster the fact that our athletes are students first," said Pearson.
