HCCF Adult Scholarship Program

Applicants must have residency in Harrison County* and be at least 25 years old, as of the date of application to be eligible. A maximum of $5,000 per recipient, per calendar year may be awarded. *Applicants will need to demonstrate legal residency for the past 24 months. Documentation such as tax forms, housing receipts, or utility bills can be used to verify residency.

Harrison County Adult Healthcare Scholarship

Eligible applicants: Any Harrison County resident who has been graduated from high school for a minimum of ONE year; and studying in a healthcare related field. Scholarship awards can be utilized towards a Healthcare related certification, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree. Funds can only be used to pay for tuition, course related fees and books.

*Scholarship will be awarded annually with a maximum award amount of $5,000 per recipient.

2019 applications will be available April 5th.

Miles’ Fund Scholarship

The Miles’ Fund was established provide scholarship support for students in a trade or vocational program. Students must be legal residents of Harrison County and be between the ages of 18-21 years old to be eligible. Scholarship funding may be used for tuition, books, course related fees, required tools, uniforms or supplies*. (*Tools, uniforms and supplies must be verified by the student’s course syllabus and class schedule.)

Applications are due October 31st and March 31st each year. Preference will be given to students who have not received funding in previous application cycles.

Jessie L. and Arlie L. Fogal Scholarship

This scholarship is for students seeking an advanced medical and/or dental degree (MD, DMD, DDS). Applicants must have been residents of Harrison County at the time of their high school graduation and who have maintained a minimum of a B+ average while in high school. Preference will be given to applicants who have financial need and a desire to return to Harrison County to practice their profession. This scholarship is renewable for up to 6 years of study.

Applications must be submitted by June 15th at 4 p.m.

2019 applications will be available starting April 5th.

Juan J. and Rudee Rodriguez Teacher Travel Fellowship Fund

This fund was established to assist educators with costs associated with professional enhancement travel.

Eligible applicants must be certified educators teaching full time in Harrison County, Indiana public schools. The educators must be members of a teacher’s union or other representative association of classroom educators and have at least three years of teaching experience. Funds may be used to cover transportation, lodging and meals. Funds may also be used to purchase artifacts and teaching materials which the educator will use in the classroom.

Application must be submitted by October 31st at 4 p.m to be considered.

2019 application will be available this summer.

Harrison County Farm Bureau, Inc. Agricultural Career Scholarship

The Harrison County Farm Bureau, Inc. Agricultural Career Scholarship provides scholarships for students in the agricultural sciences. This scholarship will support careers/majors such as agricultural systems management, teaching, sales and service, marketing, or management of food, fiber and natural resources.

Applicants must have successfully completed at least twenty-four hours of college credit, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8. Applicants must be residents of Harrison County at the time of high school graduation and preference will be given to students focusing in the agricultural sciences.

Applications available in May. Deadline to apply: June 15th.

2019 Harrison County Farm Bureau, Inc. Agriculture Career Scholarship available starting in May.

Herbert and Marilyn Gettelfinger Agricultural Scholarship

The Herbert and Marilyn Gettelfinger Agricultural Scholarship provides scholarships to students in agricultural studies who have successfully completed at least 24 hours of college credit with an accumulated GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students must be residents of Harrison County on the date of their high school graduation. Preference will be given to students enrolled in either the Vincennes University Agriculture program or the Purdue University College of Agriculture. Any level of degree program may be eligible including associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate.

Applications available in April. Deadline to apply: June 15th.

Robert H. Weber Memorial Scholarship

This funds exclusive purpose is to provide scholarship support to students in educational studies who have successfully completed at least twenty-four hours of college credit with an accumulated GPA of at 2.5 or higher.

Applicants must be residents of Harrison County at the time of high school graduation and preference will be given to students focusing in Math, Science or Elementary Education who are currently teaching in Harrison County Schools. Scholarships can be applied towards Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree studies.

Applications available in April. Deadline to apply: June 15th.

WorkOne Hands Up Scholarships

The Hands Up Scholarship program is designed to assist Harrison County resident clients of WorkOne achieve their Academic Career Plan goals. Applicants must be training in a in-demand field .

Scholarship Code of Conduct

THE HCCF SCHOLARSHIP CODE OF CONDUCT ESTABLISHES EXPECTED BEHAVIOR OF POTENTIAL AND CURRENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS/RECIPIENTS OF THE HARRISON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION. HCCF IS LOOKING FOR STRONG LEADERS OF GOOD CHARACTER WHO WILL REPRESENT HARRISON COUNTY AND THE HARRISON COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WELL. ALL STUDENTS SHOULD BE AWARE THE HCCF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS A COMPETITIVE PROCESS AND CONDUCT WILL BE CONSIDERED.

ALL HCCF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS/RECIPIENTS ARE EXPECTED TO UPHOLD HIGH STANDARDS, WHICH INCLUDE ABIDING BY FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAWS. THEY MUST ALSO ABIDE BY THE HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE ESTABLISHED CONDUCT POLICIES. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS SHOULD OPERATE AS A LEADER IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL.

THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL OR COUNSELORS SHALL NOTIFY THE HCCF AT ANY TIME IF AN INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED THAT POTENTIALLY VIOLATES THE HCCF CODE OF CONDUCT. HCCF MAY ADDRESS ANY ISSUE THAT OCCURRED IN THE STUDENT’S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. POTENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS WHO VIOLATE THESE STANDARDS MAY BE REMOVED AS A CANDIDATE FOR ANY HCCF SCHOLARSHIP AT THE DISCRETION OF THE HCCF BOARD OF DIRECTORS. A CURRENT SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT MAY HAVE THEIR SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FORFEITED IF IN VIOLATION OF THEIR SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT.
