In May, the HCCF Board of Directors awarded a $79,307 emergency grant to the YMCA of Harrison County to assist with the costs to replace a failed Desert Aire system, which provides de-humidification, heat and cooling for the air environment of the lap pool space. This grant was made possible as a result of the generous support from community donors and Horseshoe Southern Indiana.
“The money spent will help keep our members more comfortable and healthy in the swimming pool environment,” Matt Hamblen, Director of Aquatics and Facilities at the YMCA of Harrison County, said. “We want to thank the Harrison County Community Foundation for their support in our time of need."
All nonprofit agencies serving Harrison County residents may apply for grants anytime throughout the year. Nonprofits must have at least one current board member complete a HCCF-approved nonprofit board governance training program before applying for funding. The online grant application is available at hccfindiana.org.
To date, HCCF has awarded more than $94 million in grants, scholarships and other support to Harrison County nonprofits and residents.
