The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) is pleased to announce their partnership with The Wheatley Group and Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group to assist in the management and implementation of the Town Planning Initiative. HCCF will be utilizing funds received from Lilly Endowment’s Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VII) Implementation Grant and Board Engagement Grant.

These grants, plus additional support from HCCF, will be used to provide resources and support for all 10 incorporated towns in Harrison County to create or update a Comprehensive Plan and an Asset Management Plan. The intent is for these plans to help leverage outside funding for community development projects. The grant will allow up to four years for the consultants to work with each town on their planning initiative.

“We are excited to be a part of helping the communities within Harrison County plan for their future,” said Jill Saegesser, VP of Economic Development at The Wheatley Group. “We applaud the HCCF Board and Staff for leveraging Lilly Endowment funds to allow these communities the opportunity to dream big for the next generation. Our team has extensive experience in Harrison County and can’t wait to get started.”

“We were fortunate to help lead a county-wide leadership group of over 50 people from Harrison County in 2020 that identified the priorities that will increase the quality of life and support responsible growth in Harrison County,” said Amy Williams of Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group, “We are excited to be part of this town planning initiative that strives to empower each town to create a strategic direction for their future through a grassroots effort.”

Julie Moorman, President and CEO of HCCF, shared, “The Town Planning Initiative is an opportunity for the Foundation to support the towns throughout our county. By securing Jill Saegesser and Amy Williams as our consultants, we have an amazing combination of planning skills, experience, and expertise for the Town Planning Initiative.”
