What Is a Builder’s Fund?

Builder’s Funds, like all endowment funds at the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF), begin with a special gift placed in a set-aside fund held by the Foundation. Builder’s Funds can be established by an individual, family, or business. Builder’s Fund are invested to generate additional, ongoing support forever. Donated funds for Builder’s Funds are not designated to a specific purpose, allowing the HCCF Board of Directors to approve funds for the most pressing community needs as they arise alongside other grant funding.

Breaking Initial Gifts Into Increments

The normal timeframe to establish a new Builder’s Fund allows a 90-day window to collect sufficient funds to establish a new endowment fund. The timeframe has been extended until December 31,  2025, to generate needed funds for the minimum threshold of establishing a new Builder’s Fund. If the minimum of $2,500 is not reached within this period, the donations are kept in the unrestricted fund and can be used for any charitable purpose the Foundation deems fit.
