Fund Purpose Provides support to the Corydon Elementary School PTO in providing programs and services to Harrison County resident students.
Fund Story The Corydon Elementary School PTO Fund was established in February 2017 to provide support to the PTO in providing programs and services to Harrison County resident students. Here, the CES PTO shares information about how the organization and the fund make an impact.
The CES PTO operates to support the students and staff of Corydon Elementary School. We work to provide activities that enrich the school experience for our children. The largest expenditures for the CES PTO are study trips for all students and teacher allotments that support our teachers and staff.
Study trips are essential to a student’s educational experience. Study trips engage students in studies beyond what can be learned in a classroom setting. The CES PTO takes pride in funding all field trips independently so every CES student can participate.
CES PTO also supports every classroom at CES by providing money for our teachers to purchase rewards, incentives, decorations, and more! These items make learning memorable and are often not possible otherwise given limited resources.
The PTO brings other valuable resources and events to our school, including Special Person’s Week, educational assemblies for students, playground equipment, meals for teachers during long conference days, and our teacher grant program to fund needed educational items throughout our building.
The CES PTO fundraises in a variety of ways. We hold larger events, such as a Color Run and a Fall Festival, and we have also brought the world-famous Harlem Wizards to our community. These events not only raise our needed funds but also provide memories that our students will forever hold.
Additionally, we utilize fundraising through Box Tops for Education, Kroger Community Rewards, Coke Gives and fundraising nights made possible by our local restaurants. Our students also participate in fundraising with our recycling programs.
The CES PTO started an endowment with the Harrison County Community Foundation to ensure the future of the organization for generations at CES.
