Fund Story Hello! I'm Dr. Curtis Jordan, an ophthalmologist with Eye Associates in Southern Indiana. I live in New Albany with my daughter Laura.
I'm a 1976 graduate of Corydon Central High School!
My ancestors have lived in Harrison County for a couple of centuries. My dad, Richard, was a family doctor in Corydon and Jeffersonville. For 20 years his office was the gray building just down the hill from the current Intermediate School. My grandfather, Allen, grew up in Corydon and lived there all of his life. He ran Jordan Insurance for many years. His office was located just above the old Jocko's Lunch. He was also the county Democratic Chairman for a time.
Allen Jordan's great-grandfather was Colonel Lewis Jordan who commanded the home guard during the Battle of Corydon in 1863.
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend Indiana University at Bloomington. I went to the Indiana University Medical School in Indianapolis and graduated from the Methodist Hospital Family Practice Residency. I completed my eye surgery training at the Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University in Detroit.
My undergraduate years were a time of great personal growth for me. Higher education is truly a life-changing experience. This is why I decided to create the VisionQuest Scholarship. The idea is to become a lifetime-learner.
