Fund Purpose Provides scholarship support to graduating seniors of North Harrison High School who have been a member (player or manager) of the North Harrison High School football team a minimum of three years, one being senior year.
Fund Story The North Harrison Football Team PEP Scholarship Fund was created in 2005 at the Harrison County Community Foundation. This fund provides scholarship support to graduating seniors of North Harrison High School who have been a player or manager of the North Harrison High School Football Team and who has demonstrated their leadership and dedication to the Program.
North Harrison Football PEP (People Encouraging Players) is a booster club who sole purpose is to support the football programs within the North Harrison Community School Corporation.
The North Harrison Youth Football League, North Harrison Middle School and North Harrison High School Football Teams have all benefited from the fundraising efforts of PEP.
In 2000 a scholarship fund was established. The scholarship fund has grown due to the fundraising efforts of many individuals and to First Harrison Bank, who sponsors the “Half Time Kick” at all home varsity football games. Since its inception, ten seniors have been awarded scholarships and have pursued furthering their educations at colleges and universities such as Ball State, University of Louisville, Hanover College, Western Kentucky University, Purdue, and Indiana University Southeast.
PEP decided to endow the fund to the HCCF so that this scholarship will always be there to annually honor two members of the North Harrison High School Football Team who, win or loose, have made the ultimate sacrifices on the gridiron thus demonstrating the highest levels of dedication and leadership.
As always, the Harrison County Community Foundation is thrilled to help support the hard working athletes of Harrison County.
