Ladaya Owens - Managing Nonprofit Staff, Supervisors and Mid-Managers

In this workshop, LaDaya will provide ideas and strategies on how to better manage a nonprofit staff. 

Guest Speaker, LaDaya Owens

Also known as Kami, LaDaya is a passionate Human Resources professional and Kentucky native dedicated to training, coaching, and developing leaders. She holds a Bachelor's in Business Management with a minor in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky and an MBA in International Business from Campbellsville University. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Education and Social Change at Bellarmine University.
 
LaDaya serves as a Human Resources Business Partner in the Louisville Metro area, where she drives leadership growth and fosters inclusive workplace culture. She proudly serves as the volunteer Director of College Relations and Emerging Professionals for the Louisville Society for Human Resource Management (LSHRM), connecting students and young professionals with meaningful opportunities.
 
She has presented at the 25th Annual Breakfast Series for Indiana University Southeast Society for Human Resources Management and the 39th Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management Conference, sharing her insights on leadership development and cultural competency in HR.
 
Her achievements include being named Miss Black University of Kentucky, a 2023 Louisville Business First Forty under 40 recipient, a 2024 Young Professionals Association of Louisville Award winner, and the founder of Bellarmine’s first Black Professional and Graduate Student Association- the university’s first graduate student registered organization. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a Greater Louisville Inc. Ambassador, and a national HR.com 2025 Emerging Human Resource Leader 2nd place award winner.
