Gift VIII Matching Fund Campaign

Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) has received a matching fund grant totaling $225,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII) Community Project/Program option.

Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) received a matching fund grant totaling $225,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII) Community Project/Program option.

The Foundation allotted $75,000 of the matching grant funding to support participating Harrison County nonprofit organizations working in substance abuse recovery and treatment, including the Genesis House, Freed From Within, and House of New Beginnings. These nonprofits were offered a 1:1 match from Lilly Endowment Inc.  A 1:1 match was available to these entities on a first-come, first-served basis.  To receive the match, donations to an organization had to be given directly or made payable to HCCF using the below links or by mailing or dropping off a check.  The full $75,000 goal has been reached between the organizations and matching funds have been exhausted for this opportunity.

Harrison County Community Services, with services complementary to those provided by the participating residential substance abuse recovery programs, has also been provided an opportunity to receive a separate special match opportunity for endowment fund growth of up to $150,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc.   HCCS provides basic needs for a sustainable life, allowing more resources for sustainability on their recovery journey. HCCS will utilize donations through HCCF to build their endowment fund, where donations will be matched 2:1 (1:1 by Lilly Endowment Inc. and 1:1 by HCCF).   This opportunity for HCCS remains in place until June 30, 2025 or matching funds are exhausted.
