Gift VIII Matching Fund Campaign

Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) has completed this portion of the GIFT VIII Matching Fund Grant challenge by raising the full $225,000 though the Community Project/Program option.

Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) received a matching fund grant totaling $225,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII) Community Project/Program option.

The Foundation allotted $75,000 of the matching grant funding to support participating Harrison County nonprofit organizations working in substance abuse recovery and treatment, including the Genesis House, Freed From Within, and House of New Beginnings. These nonprofits were offered a 1:1 match from Lilly Endowment Inc.  A 1:1 match was available to these entities on a first-come, first-served basis.  To receive the match, donations to an organization had to be given directly or made payable to HCCF using the below links or by mailing or dropping off a check.  The full $75,000 goal has been reached between the organizations and matching funds have been exhausted for this opportunity.

The remaining $150,000 in matching funds was made available to Harrison County Community Services (HCCS). HCCS provides basic needs for a sustainable life, allowing more resources for sustainability on their recovery journey. With a 1:1 match from Lilly Endowment Inc. and a 1:1 match from HCCF, this was a 2:1 matching opportunity. As of June 30, 2025, the full $150,000 goal was reached by HCCS and matching funds have been exhausted for this opportunity.
