HCCF Awards Two Grants Totaling $55,000
Corydon, Ind. (March 14, 2025) – Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) announces recent grant awards totaling $55,000 in support of two local projects. Both grants provide resources which can positively impact the quality of life for residents in Harrison County.
- Harrison County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (HCSAPC) was awarded $37,000 to assist with renovation expenses at a new Genesis House building. The mission of the Genesis House is to foster long-term recovery for women addicted to alcohol and/or other substances, thus improving the quality of life in our community by improving the quality of life for individual community members. This new location will provide additional treatment beds, specifically for pregnant and new mothers, and women with children during their substance abuse recovery journey.
- Town of Palmyra was awarded $18,000 to be used as a local match towards the completion of a water, wastewater, and stormwater master utility plan. This grant could leverage Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). Palmyra is one of the ten incorporated towns that participated in the HCCF Town Planning Initiative which provided resources for towns to create a Comprehensive Plan.
“HCCF is excited to support these local projects, which will benefit the residents of Harrison County,” said HCCF President & CEO, Julie Moorman. “These grants represent the diverse efforts we support making a positive impact in our community.”
