Students with passion for education can apply for scholarship
It has been said that teachers educate the future. They give their students valuable knowledge for their future professions, and they provide the students with tools to succeed in school and their personal lives. With primary and secondary school students spending 35 hours a week in school, teachers are powerful influences on their lives.
As a veteran, farmer and educator, Robert H. Weber understood the value teachers give their students. After he passed away in 2012, his family established the Robert H. Weber Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Harrison County Community Foundation to encourage students to seek a career in education.
The 2019 application is available at hccfindiana.org on the Scholarships page in the Our Work tab. Eligible applicants must have successfully earned at least 24 hours of college credit with an accumulated GPA of at least 2.5.
Applicants must have been legal residents of Harrison County on the date of their high school graduation. Preference will be given to students who are studying math education, science education or elementary education and are currently teaching in Harrison County schools. Applicants must be studying education at the bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral level.
Applications must be submitted online by Saturday, June 15 at 4 p.m. to be considered.
