Fund Purpose Provides educational scholarships for Lanesville High School graduating seniors, with preference for students with a learning disability or other barrier to educational attainment, and who have performed community service inside and outside of the school.
Fund Story The family of Robin J. Wolfe established this scholarship fund in 2015 to honor her memory and her lifelong calling of teaching. The scholarship is to provide support to Harrison County resident graduating seniors of Lanesville High School who have a learning disability or other barriers to educational attainment and are accepted into and attending an accredited vocational or a two or four year institution of higher learning.
Robin Jill Monroe Thieneman Wolfe was born February 5, 1959. She was a graduate of Corydon Central High School and held Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Indiana University Southeast. Robin’s life work was teaching, for which God gave her amazing talent. She held teaching licenses for Indiana and Kentucky. She loved students of all ages and worked tirelessly to make sure ALL students achieved. She taught for the Crawford County and Lanesville Community School Corporations retiring after 34 years of service.
We know there are angels among us and Robin was one. She had a deep love for her God, family and church. She lived the life God directed her to follow and set that example for all of us to live by from her servant heart. Her legacy will live on in the people’s lives she touched every day.
Robin met her loving husband, Brian Wolfe at Southeast Christian Church. Brian was a strong supporter of Robin’s love in serving others. Whether at school or church or in the community, you could find both of them delivering food, clothing or helping someone in need.
The love of Robin’s life was her daughter, Emily Ruth Thieneman Ludwig (Chris) and her beloved grandson, Jacob Thomas Ludwig. She loved her parents, Thomas and Betty Monroe and supported them with her love, her life, and her obedience. Robin also provided unconditional love to the rest of her family from her sisters, Lynne Monroe Wheat and Nancy Monroe Lopp (David) to nephew, Warner Thomas Wheat (Caroline); great-niece, Madeline Wheat; her precious dogs, Charlie and Maggie; and many cherished family and friends.
Robin never met a stranger and loved to share her God-given and inspired talents with others. From her cooking to crocheting to provision of clothing and supplies to meet the needs of others, Robin was a giver and servant of God. She never met a student she could not teach and received many letters over the years from students who remembered the help, support and love she provided them on their road to success in life. Their failure was not an option under her tutelage.
This memorial scholarship is to honor Robin’s memory of her determination that ALL students can succeed in life and that education is the key. Her servant heart, her spirit of lifelong learning and her love of children will live on through this scholarship.
Robin was taken suddenly into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
