Harrison County Community Foundation, 1532 Foundation Way NE, Corydon, IN 47112

Wednesday, April 5, 2023
Noon

Fundraisers Group is a collective of dedicated and passionate individuals who represent various nonprofits that serve Harrison County, whether staff, board members, or volunteer fundraisers.  The primary goal of this group is to explore creative ways to raise funds for the mission of their organizations. The group meets for a brown bag lunch every other month, providing a free and open space for attendees to come together, learn more and discuss their fundraising ideas.  This month, we will highlight storytelling with Steven Michael Carr.  Please remember the brown bag lunch begins at noon. Drinks are provided by the Foundation. We will have a Zoom option available if you are unable to attend in person at the Foundation office.  RSVP by emailing Michelle Dayvault at michelled@hccfindiana.org by Tuesday, April 4th.

By hosting this space, the Foundation aims to empower and support the nonprofit sector in Harrison County, ultimately leading to a stronger and more resilient community.  If you cannot attend in person at the HCCF Conference Room, we will have a Zoom option available for you to join remotely.  The remaining dates for meetings this year are June 7th, August 2nd, and October 4th, with no meeting in December.

About the Presenter
Steven Michael Carr has never met a stranger. He holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in English and one in Psychology, from the Bellarmine University Honors Program, as well as a certification in the Principles of Fundraising from the Lilly School of Philanthropy.

In his last full fiscal year with them, Steven oversaw the attainment of $1.4 million in development revenue.

Steven uses the Thomas Merton quote, “In the end, it is the reality of personal relationships that saves everything,” as his philosophy for fundraising, as we as the old adage, “Everyone loves a good story.” As a professional storyteller, Steven Michael Carr has shared his craft on many stages, including for The Moth.
