HCCF Welcomes New Gift Planning Officer
Corydon, Ind. (September 18, 2026) – The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) is pleased to welcome Heather Campbell as the new Gift Planning Officer, replacing Kim Harmon as she prepares to retire at the end of the year.
In her new role as Gift Planning Officer, Heather will work closely with donors to help them explore planned giving opportunities that align with their charitable goals and support causes important to them. She will lead the Foundation’s efforts to grow both the major and planned gift programs, develop and maintain relationships with professional advisors, and coordinate educational workshops designed to help donors and advisors better understand charitable planning. Campbell will also lead efforts to grow and strengthen the Trace Society. The Trace Society promotes, encourages, and celebrates planned giving. Its members are generous individuals who have named HCCF in their estate plans.
Before joining HCCF, Campbell served for nine years as the Senior Director of Colonel Relations for the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. In that role, she managed a high-value donor portfolio, coordinated the relationship infrastructure for over 30,000 members, and helped onboard over 60 chapters around the world. Her experience in donor relations and stewardship will be valuable as she works with HCCF’s donors and professional advisors.
Campbell earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis on Leadership and Diversity, from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. She later earned a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. Her career includes leadership roles in higher education and the nonprofit sector before she relocated to Louisville, Kentucky.
Campbell’s commitment to serving others extends beyond her professional work. As a foster and adoptive mother and a volunteer with Make-A-Wish for more than 20 years, she understands the importance of strong community relations. “We are excited to welcome Heather to the team!” said HCCF President & CEO Julie Moorman. “She brings a strong background in relationship management, donor stewardship, and 10 years of fundraising experience, along with a passion to make a difference in the community. She is well positioned to build on the strong relationships Kim [Harmon] has developed, and we look forward to what she can bring to this role.”
After 14 years with the Foundation, Harmon will retire at the end of 2026. During her tenure, she served as HCCF’s first Director of Development, where her strong community ties and fundraising expertise helped grow the Foundation’s donor base. After 11 years in that role, she transitioned to her current position as Gift Planning Officer.
