Corydon, Ind. (July 2, 2025) – Three endowment funds have recently been established at the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF), each reflecting the unique passions and priorities of local donors who are committed to creating a lasting legacy in Harrison County. These funds focus on offering second chances, preserving the county’s rich heritage, and supporting Veterans in need, showcasing how the Foundation transforms personal values into powerful, long-term community impact.

  • House of New Beginnings Inc Endowment Fund was recently established to provide general support for House of New Beginnings Inc, which is a half-way house for men recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction.
  • Historical Society of Harrison County Inc. Fund was established by Corydon Capital Preservation Alliance. The fund’s purpose is to provide general support for the Historical Society of Harrison County Inc. in its efforts to preserve, protect, promote, and interpret the rich history of Harrison County, Indiana.
  • Harrison County Veterans Housing Support Fund was recently established to provide support to One Church Inc. for the upkeep, maintenance, and expansion of One Community Veteran Restorative Housing – Eagle Court. It will also support program costs for providing services, specifically for homeless or at-risk-of-homelessness Veterans.

“These newly established endowment funds demonstrate how a donor’s passions can shape community support. I am thankful for these generous donors for entrusting the Foundation to help fulfill their charitable intentions in Harrison County,” stated HCCF President & CEO, Julie Moorman.

Endowment funds at HCCF are a way for donors to support a cause they are passionate about forever. The process begins with a gift placed in a set-aside fund held by the Foundation. The original and subsequent gifts are invested to generate additional, ongoing support for the fund’s intended purpose. Currently, HCCF has over 335 endowment funds that support various nonprofit organizations or causes cherished by donors in Harrison County.
