Two Endowment Funds Established

Corydon, Ind. (April 11, 2025) – Two endowment funds have been established at the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF). Endowment funds are a way to support causes one is passionate about forever, starting with a gift placed in a set-aside fund held by the Foundation. The original and subsequent gifts are invested to generate additional, ongoing support for the fund’s chosen purpose, whether for a nonprofit or cause. One meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one is to establish an endowment fund supporting a nonprofit organization or cause that was important to them.
Endowment funds recently established include:
• Lena Grace Jacobi Memorial Scholarship Fund – Established by Kevin and Stefanie Jacobi in memory of their daughter, Lena. This scholarship fund aims to support graduating students from Lanesville Jr/Sr High School, with a preference for students who have participated in extracurricular and/or community service activities and for students who have not received other community foundation scholarships.
• Town of Mauckport Fund – Established by the Town Council Board of Mauckport, Ind. The fund will provide support to the public purposes and municipal programs of the Town of Mauckport.
Mauckport Town Council Board member Holly Kingsley said, “We are grateful for the opportunity that the Harrison County Community Foundation provides to establish this wonderful fund that will provide substantial benefits for the future ahead.” The Town of Mauckport was one of the ten incorporated towns that participated in the HCCF Town Planning Initiative.
Depending on the type of endowment fund, four to five percent of the fund balance can be used for purposes aligned with the original intent. HCCF has over three hundred endowment funds, with approximately $320 million in assets.
