Corydon, Ind. (March 21, 2025) – The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2025 Youth Philanthropy Council (YPC) grant awards. The YPC grant program is focused on supporting young people and their communities in Harrison County. YPC promotes youth development by providing high school-aged students an opportunity to experience philanthropy through collaboration, education, and grant making. HCCF partners with Leadership Harrison County (LHC) for YPC to be a part of the LHC Youth Program, which involves young leaders across Harrison County.

2025 YPC Grant Recipients:

  • South Harrison Community School Corporation - $567 to purchase materials needed for the Tower Garden at Corydon Central High School to develop seedlings that can be transported into the garden’s raised beds.
  • Lanesville Community School Corporation - $1,500 to support After Prom 2025 – a safe, fun environment for Lanesville students and their guests.
  • North Harrison Community School Corporation - $600 to help fund college and career exploration trips at North Harrison High School.
  • Corydon Central Vanguard - $2,000 to purchase new percussion equipment.

Requested grant funds are used to offer a range of activities for those aged 13 to 19, aiming to foster healthy relationships, providing constructive free-time activities, and community involvement. Activities may include, but are not limited to, arts, music, sports, leisure, and other activities. The YPC grant application opens in October and closes the following January, with the grant recipients announced in March. Please note that applying does not guarantee an award selection.
